Spartanburg County Election Director Barbara Blanchard has decided to retire after 24 years of service to the county. In a letter to the county election commission Blanchard said, “I have enjoyed my many years of employment…”. Blanchard officially retires on January 15.

The Post and Courier is reporting that the Mountain View, California based company Google may be looking to expand its operations in Berkeley County. If Google is coming to South Carolina, this would be a great opportunity for folks in the Lowcountry and for the State as a whole.

According to The Greenville News, Elizabeth Mabry will retire from DOT. DOT’s commissioners met behind closed doors for about 90 minutes today.
