The Stumphouse Tunnel, located in Oconee County, is currently trying to be acquired by conservation group Natureland Trust for $2.2 million dollars. For 36 years the Barnwell County nuclear waste landfill has been open. The landfill was scheduled to close next year, but some legislators would keep it open for years to come.
