According to the Post and Courier, the CBS Early Show will be broadcasting from the Charleston Battery on July 20. During the broadcast Hootie and the Blowfish will be performing along with local bluegrass and gospel acts.
The Early Show will also be focusing on the 9 fallen firefighters and Hurricane Hugo.

For those of you across the State that have the opportunity to view WIS-TV, they have announced that Scott Hawkins and Ken Aucoin are leaving for better pastures. Ken will be retiring and Scott will be taking a position with the State Forestry Commission as their Public Information Officer.

Both Carolina and Clemson will be in Tennessee for their respective bowl games. The Tigers will face Kentucky in the Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl in Nashville. The State and SCETV will host a debate between the two candidates running for the office of the Governor. Incumbent Mark Sanford and his challenger Tommy Moore will face off tonight in Columbia at the ETV studios. The two have been debating each other across the state and are slated to appear at 7:30 PM.

Last night ETV and The State newspaper hosted a debate between Ralph Norman and John Spratt, both vying for the Fifth Congressional District of South Carolina. It was a rousing debate. Both candidates came out punching.
